The Complete Authentic Kalis Ilustrisimo

FILMED OVER 2 DAYS OF MASTER ROMEO "ROMY" MACAPAGAL'S KALIS ILUSTRISIMO- AUSTRALIAN SEMINAR

A rare and tremendous opportunity to learn from one of the last living 1st Generation students of Grand Master Antonio “Tatang” Ilustrisimo.

Also known as the “Archivist” of the Kalis Ilustrisimo System. He rarely teaches publicly. Opting to have few close knit students to pass on the legacy.

With his permission. We now offer real, authentic “original” teaching from the Master himself.

Master Romy brings detailed and technical explanations to the mystery of the Ilustrisimo system

More than 5 hours of footage, over 3 volumes, not only does he share the techniques, he also shares the history, philosophy and culture of different FMA groups.

Romeo Macapagal

Growing up in a squatter refugee community of post-war Manila in the 1950’s where violence was a daily occurrence, Romeo Macapagal learned Estilo Capampangan from his grandfather and boxing from his father. He furthered his study of Arnis directly from Antonio “Tatang” Ilustrisimo. The Ilustrisimo System with its sophisticated and almost scientific approach suited his personality, already shaped by previous technical work as a banker and a construction man in ship building and civil works.

I had this volume two for a year to date. I really didn't like it. I was looking at it as a formal teaching video like you would see with others. I watched the videos the last year and just kept fast forwarding. There was to much discussing and there is no flow as it is given in Chapters. I expected to see the segments compounding from one to next. If this is what you are looking for, skip this set. So, why just now make my comments. I gave it a second chance and this time I knew what to expect. I took time and watched, some sets were still difficult and boring but I have not been too idle this past year. I researched and read about Ilustrisimo while I practiced what I saw. I had many questions and doubts. Well, this volume actually answered a lot and many little aspects like the 30deg, the slapping and not stopping a blow, that there is actually a time when 90 deg blade to blade contact is done (I really hate hearing that you should never hit with another blade with the sharp part - to me means you will never know what to do when someone does it to you) and others. If you are looking for some insight, clarification between rapier fencing and Ilustrisimo; and not a beginner - this is not for a beginner; then you should try it. I am alright about purchasing this volume and will probably get the others when I have budget. I will also give a summary for each chapter. Not a complete summary but just my notes. Enjoy
